What's on your needles?

It's October folks...

For those of us in the CRAFT WORLD that means we better have our HOLIDAY PRESENT planned and on the needles and be whipping up a storm!

So that brings me to my QUESTION OF THE WEEK - yes I figured out what the BLOG will be used for ... we are going to try to be interactive even for those of us that can't meet at Panera we can still chat and talk about what we are making... Ooops I digressed. QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What do you have on your needles for the holiday gift giving season??

ME: I'm feverishly working on SPA WASHCLOTHES in a Waffle Pattern . So far I have gotten 3 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" out of 1 skein of the cotton at Michael's. Not a bad gift considering I got the yarn for $1.29 on sale last week.

After I finish those ba-zillion I have to make (figure 3 to a person tied into little bundle and then some homemade soaps) I'm going to be working on this twisty scarf in Caron's So Soft for a friend in Chicago ... So what are YOU doing???

Welcome to the San Diego Crochet and Knitting Group - aka FIBER THERAPY! We're glad to meet you. Here you have found a wonderful source of crochet and knitting fun, learning, new ideas, and creativity in the San Diego area.

We have members from all over the area and with varying skill in crocheting and knitting. Some of us are new to the crafts, while others have been crocheting and knitting for decades! We all love what we do, and most of all, we love getting together and sharing our knowledge with others.

This is a group that has been around for almost 3 years and been through alot of changes! We originally started up on Meetup.com and over the years have changed and grown... but we all love the knitting, the crocheting, the yarn, and most importantly - the friendships we have developed and for the most part we have LOTS of fun!

Our permanent location. The Panera is located at 10751 Westview Pkwy San Diego, CA 92126-2963 at the intersection of Mira Mesa and Westview and meet EVERY Saturday from about 9ish to noonish.

Most of you have already been to this location and are familiar with it. They have very comfortable seating, they know us, and the atmosphere is relatively quiet. Please join us!

Who should come? Are newcomers welcome?
Anyone with the desire to crochet, knitting or just escaping the world for a few hours!. Newcomers are always welcome, and we'll make you feel that way. We'll help you get started if you're new to the craft. WE MEET EVERY SATURDAY!!! Usually about 9 am, some of us get there at 10. we are there till about noon or later. its a free form environment for all of us to enjoy!

Do members need to bring anything?
Bring some yarn and a crochet hook or needles if you are new and want to learn...maybe a book or a print out pattern. We have many people eager to help you get started.

Why should people come?
There is no better way to learn how to learn than to have someone show you "hands on."

How will members find you when they get there?
Look outside first - by the T-mobile store. If its chilly, over cast or a thwart of rain we tend to cluster by the front door. But you can always ask the fine folks of Panera (We've been meeting there for nearly THREE YEARS - they know us now!)

So how does the blog work??
Well, I'm really sure yet - all I know is that I wanted to create a free form environment for all my fiber addicted friends to see the calendar and post picts of their questions their WIP's and have a great way to communicate. If you want to post, guess what YOU CAN!! you have a question - ASK! And best of all its FREE FREE FREE!! no more Meet-up dues, donations or anything!!
